Ag in the Classroom Coalition
Chair: Justin Schaeffer
Ag in the Classroom teaches our local students about agriculture in Illinois and St. Clair County. This committee guides the coordinator, helps any community ag in the classroom activities, and more.
Program Committee
Chair: Paul Munie
The program committee works on the creation and work of a new program in the county as well as implementing our large programs with the help of our manager. The largest program is the annual Barnyard Open in March.
Governmental Affairs Committee
Chair: Chris Otten
The governmental affairs committee works with local, state, and national legislators that represent St. Clair County farmers and ensure that those legislators understand legislation that affects rural life and agriculture.
Young Farmers
18-35 years of age. Promoting agriculture to the next generation.
Programs include:
Food Pantry Drive-collecting food for a local food pantry.
FFA Acquaintance Programs- provide a county agri-quiz bowl for the county FFA Chapters. Support each FFA with donations for auction items at their annual meetings.
County Pedal Pull – held on Sunday of the Mascoutah Homecoming at Scheve Park, Mascoutah, IL. Children 80 lbs. and under are eligible.
Shred Day – host an annual shred day for our farm bureau members.
Other activities have included—Truck Regulation Seminars, local parades, assisting at the 4-H show, annual blood drive, “Farm Country, Stay Alert” signs, semi-trailer truck wraps.
